YCU’s Sailing Program
Youth Connections Unlimited now has a sailing program for “at risk” youth. We have a 33ft Yorktown which was donated by Solar Power and is an excellent vessel for this type of program. We believe that one of the highest contributing factors of juvenile delinquency and juvenile crime is the lack of healthy and exiting activities for our youth to engage in. We believe that young people need to have the kind of experiences, like sailing on one of the world’s premier sailing sights, which enables them to see some of the things that life can offer. This kind of program has had incredible success in other areas of the country and other areas of the world with at risk youth. We have decided to make this experience available to any youth organization, or any organization or group for daily sailing excisions on San Francisco Bay. All we ask for is a minimal donation to the program to help us defray operational expenses.
The skipper is a life time New Zealand sailor with over 50 years of sailing experience without incident. He is a member of the US Coast Guard Auxiliary and has been a sailing instructor in the Bay for many years.
Youth Connections Unlimited welcomes any financial support for this program from businesses, groups or individuals. Your tax deductable donation can be sent to Youth Connections Unlimited marked “Sailing Program” at 3053 Freeport Blvd. #418, Sacramento, CA 95818 or call our office
